Revelations 2.1.1-4 Server-Side Patch Deployed Today, 14 August (Eve Online 14 day trial)

September 8th, 2007

The server-side patch was deployed during downtime today, Tranquility opened up at 12.05, just slightly delayed. This patch addressed the following fixes:

  • Fixing an error in Starbase sentries that would cause them to continue firing after being incapacitated.
  • Fixing an issue with server startup that was causing sol nodes to fail to start.

We saw the benefits immediately when the server went up with no nodes lost on the first, and only, try. The changes has been added to the Patch Notes page where you can also find information on the latest patch and previous server-side patches for Revelations 2.1.1.

Sovereignty 4 In Places It Shouldn't Be
A few of you may have noticed after downtime this morning that you had Sovereignty 4 in your capital system. In most cases this should have been entirely expected; however, in a few cases systems were moved to Sovereignty 4 without having achieved Constellation Sovereignty in that constellation.

This was a bug and after tomorrow's downtime, the only systems that will have Sovereignty 4 will be those who've legitimately earned it. This means you will not have to petition this issue unless it is not fixed after downtime tomorrow.

Affected systems are:

  • 16P-PX
  • IS-R7P
  • 9UY4-H
  • TDE4-H
  • C-FP70
  • GA58-7
  • 49-U6U
  • EVE Trade forum channels will not close in two weeks
Yesterday, we published a news item announcing the closure of the EVE Market channels in two weeks time, as well as immediately turning the EVE: The Second Genesis CCG forums into a read-only archive.

This announcement and the removal of the ability to create new posts in the Market channels were both premature. While the Market forums will eventually be closed, this action will not be taken until the in-game market and contract systems have been made more robust and useful.

The return of the ability to create new posts in the Market forum channels should return during Wednesday's normal maintenance period. The CCG forum channels will remain in their read-only archival state.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by yesterday's announcement. Discussion may be found in this forum thread.
